Touching Hurting Lives with Christ's Limitless Love

Orange County Jail Ministry daily touches the lives of 200 to 600 women at the Female Detention Center. Hurting women come from every background and socio-ecomonic group. Many have experienced a lifetime of abuse, and the majority have learned to deal with their pain through drugs. Often drug abuse leads to protitution, crime, and even greater bondage.
Each day, OCJM extends Christ's love, encouragement, and compassion through its outreach to women. The ministry at the female detention center offers a Christian-based drug recovery and inner healing program, and it conducts and oversees Bible studies, church services and one-on-one counseling sessions through a Gideon's army of godly, dedicated volunteers. In addition, women receive donated Bibles, Christian books, magazines, Bible studies, daily devotionals, and much more. Women love to read, and a newly saved women with much time on her hands and many questions about faith, greatly appreciates the many generously donated materials materials disbursed through OCJM.
Often when a woman commits her life to Christ and rejects a life of prostitution and drugs, she feels loath to wear the immodest clothing she was arrested in. With the help of the community and faithful volunteers, many of these individuals are provided new clothes for a fresh start.
The chaplains office works with a host of aftercare facilities and community programs that provide the continuing help many women need to succeed in getting off drugs.
With the faithful and dedicated help of loving volunteers, incarcerated women learn that God loves them, and His arms of safety and acceptance are always open wide. Many women received a new beginning and a wonderful new life through faith in our wonderful Savior.
